It's 4:20 somewhere. On can-nabis, it's 4:20 every hour.
At :20 past every hour, the entire site lights up for sixty seconds. Hourly micro-celebrations on the toke button. Banner. A reminder that wherever you are, somewhere on earth a hand just flicked a lighter.
The illustration above is older than this site. I drew it in a Google Doc when I bought can-nabis.com at 21: a guy on a dock with a glowing doobie, marijuana plants on a small island, one coconut tree, sun and moon rotating across the sky. Took sixteen years to actually render it. The sun and moon are real — they arc in time with your local clock. Refresh at sunset.
The raffle nuggetclick to open
In the 2010 brief, the homepage was supposed to drop a “raffle green nugget” on the screen at 4:20 — click it for a prize. Sixteen years later, prizes still aren't live, but the points system is on the way: upvote arguments on the Pro/Con timeline, collect points, redeem for small shop items (lighters, beeswax rope) at certain levels.
You found this on purpose. That counts for something later.
